U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday the appointment of Jeff Landry as Special Envoy to Greenland.
Trump said Landry understands Greenland’s strategic importance to U.S. national security and will work to advance American interests for the safety and security of allies and global stability. It remains unclear whether Landry will need to resign as governor to assume the new role, according to CNN.
