Libyan Prime Minister Osama Hammad launched a scathing attack on the outgoing government and the Governor of the Central Bank, accusing them of misleading the public and exacerbating the country’s economic crisis.
Hammad claimed that over 500 billion dinars were spent unlawfully by the outgoing administration, and that post-September 2024 oil swaps were illegal and led to resource depletion.
He also criticized the recent devaluation of the dinar, calling it poorly planned and harmful to citizens’ livelihoods, while stressing the need for unified spending, adherence to legislation, and sound governance.
Hammad reiterated his rejection of the Central Bank Governor’s statement, particularly sections 4 and 5.
