In a significant diplomatic move, Commander of the Libyan National Army Ground Forces, Lt. General Saddam Haftar, has initiated efforts to rebuild ties with Algeria — one of the last remaining supporters of the rival Government of National Unity.

According to The Geopolitical Desk, Saddam held secret meetings with senior Algerian officials aimed at building trust and opening a new chapter of cooperation.

He emphasized the LNA’s readiness to act as a responsible partner for regional stability.

This outreach follows successful engagements with both Turkey and the United States, underscoring Saddam’s dynamic leadership and his ability to recalibrate Libya’s foreign relations toward a more balanced and inclusive regional order.
