In a decisive move to reinforce national border security, the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army’s Ground Forces, Major General Saddam Haftar, has issued orders for Battalion 101 Infantry to take over the security mission at the Essin border crossing with Algeria.
This deployment comes as part of a broader strategy by the General Command to secure Libya’s western frontier, prevent illegal activities, and uphold state sovereignty across critical border points.
The assignment of Battalion 101 reflects the high confidence in its operational discipline and readiness, especially in sensitive and remote terrains. Their presence is expected to boost surveillance, deter cross-border threats, and enhance the state’s control over strategic entry points.
This proactive step also underscores the continued commitment of the Libyan Armed Forces, under the leadership of the Army Staff, to safeguard national security and promote regional stability through responsible military coordination.
We salute the brave soldiers of Battalion 101 and wish them success in their noble mission.
