Under the directives of the Commander of the Libyan Army’s Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, the Morale Guidance Division held a memorial ceremony honoring the martyr Hamid Aqila Al-Areebi, a member of the 676th Infantry Battalion. He was killed while bravely defending Libya’s southern border during an attack by Chadian criminal gangs deep in the desert.
A commemorative shield bearing the name of Lt. Gen. Haftar was presented, praising Al-Areebi’s heroic sacrifice. Senior officers from Army Command also offered condolences to the martyr’s family and comrades.
The head of the Morale Guidance Division assured the martyr’s family that his sacrifice will not be forgotten and reaffirmed that the General Command of the Libyan Armed Forces remains committed to securing the southern borders and confronting any threat to national security.
