In a decisive military operation led by the Libyan Ground Forces under the command of General Saddam Haftar, special operations units launched a successful counterattack on a Chadian opposition group that had targeted an army outpost near the southern border.
The operation resulted in the liberation of captured soldiers, all of whom are now in stable condition, and inflicted heavy losses on the attackers. Several key figures, including the group’s leader, were captured. Reconnaissance units continue to track the remnants of the hostile formation in the surrounding desert.
Tragically, soldier Hamad Aqila Al-Areebi of the 676th Infantry Battalion was martyred while defending his post. The Ground Forces confirmed their ongoing commitment to securing Libya’s borders and confronting any threats with firmness and resolve.
