Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar in the city of Alamein to discuss the latest developments in Libya and ways to enhance security and stability across the country.
President El-Sisi reaffirmed that Libya’s stability is a core component of Egypt’s national security. He praised the Libyan army’s efforts in combating terrorism and emphasized the urgent need to expel all foreign mercenaries from Libyan territory.
For his part, Field Marshal Haftar expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s continued support, and stressed the importance of leveraging Egypt’s development experience in rebuilding the Libyan state and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
