The Turkish Ministry of Defense has described the official visit of Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, Chief of Staff of Libya’s Ground Forces, as a strategic and significant step within the framework of efforts to end divisions and support a unified Libya.
In a statement reported by Anadolu Agency, the Ministry emphasized that the visit reflects Turkey’s policy of embracing all parts of Libya and fostering inclusiveness and stability across the country.
“For the sake of Libya’s stability and prosperity, we will continue to take the initiative to elevate our relations to a higher level, as we have done so far,” the statement said.
The Ministry also stressed that the time has come to refer to Libya as one nation, rather than dividing it into East and West.
