In a decisive move to combat fuel smuggling and restore order, the city of Zalla has become a model for effective intervention, following a field operation overseen by the Libyan Ground Forces Command, led by Major General Saddam Haftar.

The operation, launched under direct orders from the Commander of the Central Military Region, was carried out by the Central Support Directorate – Jufra Branch, in full coordination with the 692nd Infantry Battalion tasked with securing oil fields and surrounding areas.

Large quantities of smuggled fuel and diesel were seized, and the main fuel station in Zalla was officially placed under the supervision of the support forces, with local leaders and the municipal council involved in ensuring fair distribution.

This intervention is part of a broader plan implemented by the Ground Forces Command to stabilize fuel distribution and fight corruption, following successful precedents in Hun, Waddan, and Sokna.
Observers view this as a sustainable model that combines strict enforcement with local engagement — a hallmark of the current military leadership’s strategy.
